Brasil: Seafood Safety & Quality Workshops (SIMCOPE)
Undertook a series of seafood safety and quality workshops at: Fisheries Institute (Instituto de Pesca) of S. Paulo in Santos, ESALQ / University of S. Paulo in Piracicaba, and at Symposium of Fish Quality Control – www.simcope.com.br - organised by Fisheries Institute and University of Santos (Unisantos). The workshops were entitled: “Assurance of Fish products Safety and Traceability in the Production Chain”; “Hygiene Requirements for exports of fish and fishery products to the EU”; “Implementation of Quality Tools in the Fish Processing Industry – theoretical quality aspects in industry practices”. The workshops were attended by industry quality managers, researchers, and pos-graduate students specializing in fish products. June & July 2012
United Nations Industry Development Organization (UNIDO) – Bangladesh: Seafood Legislation Revision and Development of Inspection Manual
Under the “Better Work and Standards Programme”, sub-component Better Fisheries Quality, undertook a revision of the existing fishery and aquaculture products legislation of Bangladesh against EU regulations and requirements. Developed a draft Inspection Protocol and Manual, integrating a risk based inspection system, including compliance criteria and guidelines, plus evaluation indicators of Competent Authority performance.
